Phonics

This week the children have learnt the sounds i, n, m and d. We have also been learning to blend cvc words. Here are some words you may like to help your child learn - sat, mat, tin, tap, pin, dad, sat, sit, nap and nip.

African Drumming

Today the Reception class took part in some African Drumming. The children had lots of fun exploring different sounds on the drum and some of the children had the opportunity to be the conductor.

Phonics!

This week the children will begin to learn Phase two Letters and Sounds. Each day the children be taught a new sound along with a Jolly Phonic action. A set of sounds will then be sent home on Friday for you to practice with your child.
This weeks sounds are s, a, t, p.

Welcome!

Welcome to all the new Reception children who have started at Cabot Primary. The children have all settled very well and are enjoying school life. Here are a few pictures of some of the things they have been up to.

Caterpillars!!

We have had a special delivery - CATERPILLARS!!!

Over the next five week the children will observe the transformation from a caterpillar to a butterfly.

Our new outdoor classroom!

Over the Easter break the Reception outdoor classroom had a transformation!

The children had lots of fun exploring the new area.

Today the children had the opportunity to explore the school Ipads. The children learnt how to use simple programs. Take a look at them in action!
